Eagles Land Commitment From Braxtin McLester

The Georgia Southern Eagles received a commitment from Class of 2025 LB Braxtin McLester from Douglasville, Georgia. The 6’3”, 205 pound linebacker also had offers from Austin Peay, Chattanooga, Eastern Kentucky, Georgia State, Marshall, Miami (OH), Middle Tennessee State, and Western Kentucky. Through the first five games of his senior season, he has 24 total tackles including 1 TFL. According to 247Sports, Braxtin was one of the top performers at the US Army Bowl Combine back in February.

Based on film from Hudl, Braxtin McLester appears to have a great feel for the game, moves smoothly, and has great lateral speed. He is big enough to fill gaps and make plays in the run game and has fluid hips and solid footwork when dropping into coverage. In space, he uses his feet well to make sure he does not get beat and is a solid tackler. He has a solid frame that could allow him to put on 15-20 pounds once in the Eagles strength and conditioning program. He currently plays at around 200 pounds as an outside linebacker and will likely be 215-220 pounds by the time he steps on the field in Statesboro.

According to On3, he took an unofficial visit to Georgia Southern on July 27, 2024, received an offer from the Eagles and committed on September 21, 2024. He is the 11th commit in the Class of 2025 joining a talented group of players. Early Signing Day is just a couple months away on December 4, 2024 and hopefully McLester will sign on the dotted line that day and get this 2025 class rolling!
