Georgia Southern Releases 2025 Football Schedule
The Georgia Southern Eagles 2025 Football Schedule is officially set. The Eagles, led by Head Coach Clay Helton, look to build on a relatively successful 2024 campaign and take the next step - a Sun Belt Championship. The 2025 schedule starts with a two-week West Coast slate against Fresno State on August 30, 2025, followed by a trip to the University of Southern California (USC) on September 6, 2025. Coach Helton served as an Assistant Coach from 2010-2015 before taking over as the Head Coach of the Trojans from 2015-2021. The two games after that will be played in the friendly confines of Paulson Stadium in Statesboro, GA against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks on September 13, 2025, and an FCS foe, the Maine Black Bears, on September 20, 2025.
Sun Belt Conference play will begin on September 27, 2025, when the Eagles travel to Harrisonburg, VA to take on the James Madison Dukes. Following that matchup, Georgia Southern will get their first of two bye weeks before taking on the University of Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles on a Thursday night, October 9, 2025. The following weekend, the Eagles will play host to in-state rival, the Georgia State Panthers, on October 18, 2025.
After the matchup with the Panthers, Georgia Southern travels to Jonesboro, AR to take on the Arkansas State Red Wolves before the final bye week of the season. The game immediately following the bye week will take place in Boone, NC as the Eagles travel to take on their biggest rival, the Appalachian State Mountaineers on a Thursday night, November 6, 2025. Georgia Southern then hosts two back to back home games against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on November 15, 2025 and against the Old Dominion Monarchs on November 22, 2025. The final game of the season will be a trip to Huntington, WV to take on the Marshall Thundering Herd.
The Georgia Southern Eagles finished 2024 with a record of 8-5 (6-2 SBC) and conference win away from a Sun Belt Championship Game berth. The coaching staff recruited well this offseason and Eagle Nation is looking forward to a great 2025 campaign.
